The People Behind the Place

David's House is a house because of the roof, the walls, the rooms, and the beds. But David's House is a warm, welcoming home because of the people that keep the doors open 365 days a year.

David's House is able to operate with a very small paid staff because of the wonderful volunteers that give their time and energy. Our volunteers come from every walk of life, but the one thing they have in common is an unwavering commitment to supporting families in their most trying times. They bake, cook, answer phones, check guests in and out, chat with families, participate in events, make quilts, and do everything possible to bring a little sunshine into our guests' lives.

Board of Directors

Our board of directors is a body of appointed members who jointly oversee and steer the direction and health of David's House. They donate their time and energy to the House, and like all volunteers, their dedication to our mission is unshakable.

The president emeritus of David's House is Dick Cyr, David's father and the founder of David's House, and he is still heavily involved and passionate. Listen to Dick Cyr tell Etown Radio the story of David's House, or watch him tell his story in this stort video.

"Thanks for a comforting, welcoming atmosphere. A sweet and generous haven from the stress and worry about a very sick child."

"We don't have a car, and because of David's House, we were seconds away from our little girl."

"When you walk in from spending an extraordinarily stressful day at the hospital, tired, weary, scared, and forlorn, you immediately feel a sense of comfort and peace. It's difficult to explain."

"Honestly, I don't know what we would do without your support."
