David's House is the dream of a little boy...

...who passed away at age five after a three and a half year struggle against Acute Lymphatic Leukemia. Built so that families can remain together when it is most crucial, David's House provides support and a home-away-from-home for families with children recieving medical care at the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth, in Lebanon, NH. 

Because their home was only twenty minutes away, it was easy for David's parents to visit him during his frequent hospitalizations. But they met many parents who slept in their cars or on the hospital floor, unable to afford any length of stay in a hotel and unwilling to leave their child’s side. When David’s doctor told the Cyrs that David had just months to live, Dick, David's father, asked the doctor, “Why isn’t there a place for families like ours to stay?” There had been talk of such a place, the doctor told them, but nothing had ever come of it.

Dick replied, "We're going to build a place, and we're going to call it David's House."
